entertainment zone and world-class shopping centre, at Maddilapalem here on Saturday.

District Collector J. Shyamala Rao inaugurated the CMR outlet while Police Commissioner N. Sambasiva Rao opened the saris division.

Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority Vice-Chairman B. Sridhar opened the menswear division and Executive Director of Sify V. Ananda Raju opened the jewellery division. Landlord Mattapalli Chalamayya was the first purchaser.

Mr. Yadav and the officials, accompanied by CMR Group chairman Chandana Mohana Rao, its managing director Mavuri Venkata Ramana, went round the various floors of the mega mall and saw the products on display.

“We were the first to set up a mall when the concept was not known in this region. The immense popularity of our mall has drawn other big players also to the city but still we remain the most sought-after mall in the city,” Mr. Chandana Mohana Rao said a couple of years ago.

He describes the mega shopping centre and entertainment zone as New Year gift to the people of the city who have been patronising the group for the last 25 years. The new shopping facility is strategically located as it is close to the National Highway and can be reached conveniently from different areas of the city.
Ample parking

Set up on a three and half acre land, the facility boasts of an Inox Multiplex that has four theatres, an entertainment zone for children and food plaza. There is ample space all around and a two-level parking promises to keep parking problems of shoppers at bay.

While the saris, branded menswear and jewellery sections are open to customers, the mega mall is expected to be ready in a full-fledged manner by Ugadi (Telugu New Year).

CMR Group Chairman Chandana Mohana Rao described it as a New Year gift to the people of the city who have patronised the group for the last 25 years. He recalled that CMR was the first to introduce the concept of a ‘mall’ in north Andhra. The new mall will feature multinational brands and provide world-class food, fun and fantasy for all age groups.
Special zone

There will be a special entertainment zone for children. Spread over an extent of three-and-a-half acres the mega mall has been constructed with a bank loan of Rs.45 crores. It will be complete in all respects by Telugu New Year (Ugadi).

“A modern two-level parking and a host of customer-friendly features await customers at the new mall,” said CMR Group Managing Director Mavuri Venkata Ramana.
